What One Can Learn From West Chester Swimming Lessons

By Jocelyn Davidson

Swimming is actually very crucial in the life of any person because it is not only a great exercise but is can also be a life saver. If one has never taken west chester swimming lessons before, then here is an idea of how they would actually be. In a nutshell, complete lessons are split into three levels which would be the beginner, the advanced, and the competitive.

In the beginner level, students will first be learning how to float. This is actually the most important lesson because if one does not know how to float, he will not know how to swim. So first, he will be learning the basics of breathing in the pool so that his body can float.

After he learns how to float, he will then be learning the kick which is what he will use to move in the water. To do this, he will just be kicking the water with his feet moving alternately. Once he perfects this move, he will then accompany it with hand movements to do the freestyle.

Once he has already perfected this basic move, he would then be taught how to do the dog paddle and frog kicking moves. Now if one is thinking about learning how to survive in water, then these are the moves that he should really learn. They are moves that allow him to swim and keep his head out of the water.

Now after he learns these two moves, then he has already completed his beginner level and can go on to the advanced level. Now the very first stroke that he will learn upon entering advanced training would be the backstroke. Now the backstroke is one of the most relaxing moves in the entire history of swimming because one will be moving his body while he is lying on his back.

Of course after he has already learned that, then he would then be learning the breast stroke. Now this breast stroke is rather an easy stroke wherein he would be using some hand movements while a little bit of upper body movements that will allow him to bring his head up. While he does this, he should be doing frog kicks.

Now the last and probably the hardest move that one will learn is the butterfly stroke. This move is quite hard to do because it does require a lot of upper body strength as well as a lot of abdominal strength to perform. Basically, one will be kicking the pool with two legs at the same time and then will be propelling himself forward.

Once he has learned all of those moves, he is now ready to go to the competitive level. Now he will not be learning any new moves while in this level but he will be refining what he already knows and he would also be improving his stamina by swimming laps back and forth in the pool. When he has finished this level, then he would definitely not need to be afraid of trying to survive in the water anymore.
